Looking for Orthodox Monks on Bulgaria’s Holiest Mountain 🇧🇬 | Rila Monastery

I knew there were Orthodox monks somewhere in Bulgaria but I didn't know where... that's when I learned about Rila Monastery! I booked a GetYourGuide tour and headed there without any expectations. First we stopped at Boyana Church, a UNESCO world heritage site with beautiful medieval frescoes. Then we headed to Rila Monastery, which was even more beautiful than I expected! The monastery is nestled in the Rila mountains, surrounded by stunning nature. Unfortunately, I didn't get to meet any of the Monks who live there but we almost became ones ourselves after seeing how beautiful and peaceful the place is!
