I’m a Hungarian man. Both my parents and all my ancestors are Hungarian. However, I was born in Serbia. Hungary used to be bigger, and parts of it were taken away by neighbouring countries — including the region I’m from in Serbia. I grew up in a small village called Bačko Gradište until age 10, then moved to Ireland where I live now. So, long story short: I’m a Hungarian guy from Serbia living in Ireland!

Hey, I’m Máté. The face behind UriMate.
I’m a 23-year-old Hungarian and I’ve been learning Korean for several years and I was even an exchange student in Korea. My goal is to share the world through my eyes to both a Korean and a global audience. My passions have always been geography, languages, and experiencing cultures different of my own. As a Christian and family-friendly creator, I focus on respectful, uplifting storytelling content that anyone can enjoy. I’m always looking to collaborate with people who share the same vision, whether you’re a fellow travel YouTuber, a creative storyteller, or just someone who loves a good adventure. If that sounds like you, drop me an email below and let’s make something unforgettable together.
Frequently Asked Questions
My mother tongue is Hungarian, but I’m also fluent in English (obviously). I did most of my education in English — from primary school to secondary school to university, it was all in English. Throughout my life, I’ve also learned multiple languages, starting with the most important one: Korean. I’ve been studying Korean for years, and my current level is TOPIK Level 2 out of 6. I scored 191/200 on the TOPIK I exam. I also studied Japanese in secondary school and was pretty good at it, but since I abandoned it, I’ve forgotten everything. I learned Spanish for 3 years and remember nothing, studied Irish for 8 years and still can’t form a sentence, and even took Polish for one semester in secondary school but don’t even know how to say hello. So, long story short: Hungarian, English, and a decent level of Korean.
I film everything with my trusty DJI Osmo Pocket 3. It’s small, easy to use, and still gives great quality — perfect for travel. I got the creator bundle, so I also use the mic and battery extension. For editing, believe it or not, I use the simplest software: CapCut on PC. I pay €11.99 a month for Pro, but honestly, I don’t even think you need it. For thumbnails, I use Photoshop (with my very limited Photoshop skills — still working on those). And finally, I carry a bunch of power banks because my phone dies fast, and the Pocket 3 usually needs a little recharge too since I record a lot.
Editing in CapCut is simple, but you actually learn a lot while doing it. Every video, I find new tricks to make it look better and flow smoother. Honestly, just start editing and you’ll get better over time. I can fully edit one of my videos in one day… if I really lock in.
